The Navy fully integrated 14 rates into the billet-based advancement system that the sea service aims to bring service-wide. 

Sailors who are at least at an E-4 with the rates of aviation boatswain’s mate (launching and recovery equipment), aviation boatswain’s mate (fuel), aviation boatswain’s mate (aircraft handling), aviation structural mechanic-safety equipment, aviation ordnanceman, culinary specialist, damage controlman, electrician’s mate, interior communications electrician, gunner’s mate, gas turbine systems technician-mechanical, machinist’s mate, quartermaster and retail services specialist can enter the detailing marketplace in August, the first available month, according to a Navy fact sheet on the policy.
