This NAVADMIN announces the transition of the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) notification capability to the Department of the Navy's enterprise mass notification platform, Alert!. This upgrade enhances the Navy's ability to rapidly and reliably communicate with personnel and their families in support of personnel accountability and disaster response, per reference (a).  a. NFAAS is the system utilized by the Navy to account for personnel and their families during widespread natural or man-made disasters.  b. Effective immediately, all future NFAAS notifications (e.g., personnel accountability musters, disaster response messages, and exercise alerts) will be delivered through the Alert! platform. This transition replaces the legacy email-to-text notification system. The transition to Alert! is automatic and no action is required by the sponsor. However, action is required to reply to the text notification if you are in an affected geographical area of interest.  c. Alert! provides improved speed, reliability, and two-way communication via SMS, email and voice. Sponsors will receive text message notifications from phone number 24639 and may reply with their status. After 10 minutes, sponsors will begin to receive phone calls if they have not replied.  d. Alert! does not replace the requirement for sponsors to update their information for the semi-annual event, sponsors will still need to login to NFAAS at http://www.navyfamily.navy.mil/ to update and or validate their information. 2. Applicability. This message applies to all Navy uniformed personnel (Active Duty and Reserve), Navy civilians (both APF and NAF), and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) contractors.  3. • FALLS CHURCH, Va.  –  Respiratory illnesses like respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, and flu can spread quickly, especially during the fall and winter months. However, there’s an easy way to reduce your risk of serious illness—get vaccinated. TRICARE covers both RSV and flu immunizations for eligible beneficiaries, helping protect you and your family this season. “Each year, RSV and flu hospitalize thousands of people—especially children, older adults, and those with underlying health conditions,” said Dr. Stacy Usher, lead nurse, TRICARE Health Plan, at the Defense Health Agency. “Immunization is the most effective way to prevent illness and protect those around you.”
    • ORT WORTH, Texas — An arrest has been made in the wrong-way crash that killed 38-year-old Brytni Elliott and injured members of her family in September. On Sept. 14, less than five minutes from their home on Boat Club Road, Fort Worth police said a wrong-way driver slammed into the Elliott family’s vehicle. Inside were Brytni, her husband, 41-year-old Spencer Elliott — who remains hospitalized with multiple injuries — and their 12-year-old daughter, Allie, who suffered a broken arm. Brytni was pronounced dead at the scene.
    • “The Trump Administration has not provided a credible rationale for its 21 unauthorized military strikes on vessels in the Western Hemisphere, which have resulted in the extrajudicial killings of dozens of individuals. Nor has this administration explained why it has deployed an invasion-level force of roughly 15,000 troops, a carrier strike group, and military aircraft for a mission it claims is about counter-narcotics. This posture is wildly disproportionate to the stated objective and far more reminiscent of preparations for war.
