Reports are the USS George H.W. Bush sailed around Africa in April 2026 to avoid the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait but I did not see that mentioned in the article... 👀 

East Coast carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) is now operating in the Middle East after a sailing around the southern tip of Africa, U.S. Central Command announced on Thursday. Bush’s entrance into CENTCOM marks the first time three carriers have been in the Middle East since the height of the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
