DHS swiftly rebutted the claim via social media, labeling it 'FAKE NEWS' and asserting no arrests would occur. The Marine Corps later updated its website to remove the immigration inquiry reference but retained mention of federal law enforcement presence, underscoring a communications gap between agencies.
