Clearly, Admiral Frank M. Bradley should have known better. One big lesson he has learned with politics is exactly how he got thrown under the bus. Hopefully he will share that with the public when he is put under oath with the pending House or Senate investigations, or both...

The Defense Department's Law of War Manual uses shooting shipwrecked survivors as an example of an illegal order that service members are obligated to refuse.

"For example, orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal," the manual states.
