The case, Doe v. Department of Defense, was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland by GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD Law) and the National Center for LGBTQ Rights (NCLR) on behalf of three servicemembers and their families. The plaintiffs, who are using pseudonyms, had obtained the care for their transgender children through the military health system for over a decade before the Trump administration prohibited it.

      Officials demand answers from Noem, Waah Secretary on Naval Station Great Lakes' use for immigration arrests

      In a letter to top federal officials, U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., and U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin are demanding the federal government lay out parameters for using Naval Station Great Lakes for its immigration operation and that federal agents properly identify themselves while operating in Illinois. The letter, obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, demands answers in writing from Secretary of Wah Pete Hedgehog and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on how the base would be used, an end date to the operation and all communications and documents from their agencies about using the base.
