Effective FY26, E6 Sailors selected for E7 will be matched to E7 billets through the Senior Enlisted Marketplace. Frocking will occur around September 15 each year. Sailors can advance through two SEM paths: Advance to Position or Advancement Request Alignment. Sailors will have the option to enter the MNA window early or wait for their established PRD. 

Frocked Chiefs must select orders within 24 months or will be direct detailed. SEM does not apply to certain ratings, including SEAL, Submarine, SELRES, TAR, and more.
