    • The Pentagon said on Friday the US will be withdrawing roughly 5,000 troops from Germany over the next year. The move, which comes after President Donald Trump lashed out the German chancellor over his criticism of the US war with Iran, would still leave more than 30,000 US troops in the country.
    • 😔  On paper, the war in Iran should not be much of a contest. The United States spends around $1 trillion a year on its military, more than 100 times as much as Iran. That money buys a vastly larger Air Force and Navy, as well as advanced weapons technologies that Iranian generals can only dream about.

    • A US Navy warship lost power and propulsion for several hours in the Indo-Pacific on Tuesday, a US defense official said, after suffering what a Navy statement called an “engineering casualty” in its electrical system. Such a situation would leave the ship, the guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins, and its crew of about 300 “helpless” in the water, a naval analyst told CNN. There were no injuries among those aboard, the Navy said.
    • It can be a challenge when a family member passes away. You’re dealing with not only the emotional sense of loss, but the many other details that require time, energy, and focus surrounding that loss. One of these concerns may be how your healthcare coverage may change. “Most importantly, TRICARE recognizes what you’re going through and is here to support you in your time of loss,” said Zelly Zim, senior program analyst, TRICARE Health Plan, Policy and Programs Division, at the Defense Health Agency. “The TRICARE benefit offers coverage that transitions with you as you move into this new phase of life. With TRICARE, your healthcare coverage changes as your life changes.” TRICARE wants you to know that you aren't alone. This article focuses on the benefits TRICARE offers survivors.
