FY-15 Medical Service Corps Program Discussion

Recommended Posts

Guest HM1(FMF)

I have always been curious as to how many people apply for each program. Specifically HCA. This seems like it is top secret information. Anybody have any input on that?

SO was I.... Looks like you're my competition lol... Hopefully we'll know soon. This wait is killing me!

Just because my curiosity is killing me. What school and what's your job in the navy?..................

I applied for HCA!  Also to address the previous posts IRT HSCP and going with a recruiter; It's not considered a loop hole. As long as you're accepted to an accredited HCA graduate program you can apply for HSCP, and as long as there are quotas. I will tell you from personal experience (10+ years in Navy Recruiting) that its a very complicated process to apply through a Navy Recruiter. Technically you are not supposed to, you are suppose to apply via IPP (As stated by ECM's)! Anyhow if I can answer some questions just ask. Also the quotas for HCA are very limited (HSCP-HCA or MSC HCA Direct Access). In summary, stick with MSC-IPP it's a better process.

Sorry, I had to run... I'm a Corpsman- PT tech more specifically. I was accepted to the University of Michigan. How about you?

Did you apply two years ago?

No, This was my first time applying. I'd actually planned on getting out this month, but I saw the Navadmin and took a leep of faith, reenlisted and applied. I was supposed to start school last fall but of course, being in the Navy stopped that.  I'll have to reapply for my program if I dont get selected this time around and try again next year. It's good that you have all that experience, I know that's what they're looking for. I had some during a deployment to Afghanistan but no where near as much as you. Sounds like you have a good chance. Good Luck!

I applied this year for HCA (Direct)...1st time. I do agree that alot of it seems to be top secret.  Well good luck.  I pray you will see your name on the list!

Any news in the message traffic (for those who have access to it?)

I haven't seen anything. Anyone here has heard any type of chatter? I get message traffic on my work blackberry so I'm on top of that.

Good Evening Everyone,

I have been stalking this message board since my sister submitted her application. I have been checking daily for the results and of course they would come out on the one day neither she or I were checking for them! I am excited to report that she is one of the selectees!! We are so EXCITED!! Congratulations to all of those that have been selected and for those who were not, keep trying...you never know when your opportunity will come around!

  • 2 weeks later...

I was selected for the PA program this year, and have already sent all of the information outlined in the NAVADMIN to Ms. Kemp. I haven't received any other information yet (i.e. when we start class, anything we need to bring, when we should expect orders, etc.). Has anyone received any other information?

What I did get is that PA students will probably be getting orders to leave in July.  No other details.  My NCC has been contacting her about reenlisting/OBLISERV. What I did get is that PA students will probably be getting orders to leave in July.  No other details.

She said that once she receives anything for us she forwards it immediately.

Cool thanks guys. Hopefully with all of us getting little pieces of information we can build a whole picture of what's going on. Gonna be a wild ride.
