‘Pretty drunk’ sailor arrested on Okinawa after shoving Japanese officer, police say

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — An Okinawa-based sailor stationed at Camp Shields was taken into custody by Japanese police Sunday after reportedly vandalizing a parked vehicle and shoving a responding police officer to the ground.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Jesus Rodriguez, a 25-year-old Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, was arrested in Chatan town at around 1:30 a.m., an Okinawa police station spokesman said Monday.
