WASHINGTON – Facebook Inc. and the Department of Veterans Affairs will provide 7,400 free video-calling devices to veterans to help them stay connected to friends and family during the coronavirus pandemic, the department announced Wednesday.

Facebook and the VA are giving away Portals, which are video-calling hubs that require a Facebook account to work. The device allows users to call people from their Facebook friends list or through their WhatsApp accounts. They retail for $129. https://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/facebook-va-will-give-away-video-calling-devices-to-connect-veterans-1.626198
