A Navy airman charged with attempting to kill his wife in a murder-for-hire plot appeared Wednesday in the military's equivalent of a preliminary hearing.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Airman Uriel Gerardo Olivas is accused of communicating a threat, solicitation, stealing his basic housing allowance and the use of marijuana. He is also charged with aggravated assault with a loaded firearm in a May 2 incident in which he is accused of pointing a loaded firearm at his neighbor "at or near" his Hampton home, according to a charge sheet. Olivas is assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush, where he works as a fuel handler.  https://pilotonline.com/news/military/local/article_158866ec-a624-11e8-8104-3ba2960e1077.html
