Whooo hooo Ticket to the show. 92%. That’s the 6th time in the +90%. If only they cared about test scores on the board.

Number one factor for selection...….sustained superior performance...….how far above the Reporting Senior Cumulative Average (RSCA) was your Individual Trait Average (ITA) on your eval. You can see how well you stack up by going to BOL and clicking the ODC, OSR, PSR, ESR link. After you open that click on the evaluation summary (1996-Present). At the top left of your screen you will see a box that says generate PDF. Once you open the document it's going to create your performance summary report. Look at your last 5 years worth of evals. You want your Individual Summary (IND SUM) as far above the Reporting Senior Cumulative (R/S CUM) as possible. Remember the more people that you were ranked against in your group the better. This has always helped me know where I stand as far as being competitive. Now if you have a recent NJP or PFA failure those are detractors. But if your record is clean, consistently above RSCA, documented results in a leadership position, you will be competitive. One more thing...….pay close attention to your enlisted career path. E7 SELECTION BOARD ELIGIBILITY - CYCLE 242 The Navy Advancement Center will process all Active Duty E7 advancement exam answer sheets received from the January administration tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12, and publish Cycle 242 selection board eligibility status at 9:00 EDT. The process requires all Chief Petty Officer candidates in each rating to be rank ordered by Final Multiple Score. The Sailors that fall out in the top 60% in each rating will be selection board eligible for the FY-20 Chief Petty Officer selection boards. Selection board eligibility status will be promulgated by individual profile sheet notification from the Navy Enlisted Advancement System Web service. Access the link below tomorrow from a .mil domain computer after 9:00 a.m. EDT, or contact your command ESO to find out if you made board! https://prod-neas.ncdc.navy.mil/NEASRpts/Individual.aspx

Ok, so im gonna just put this out there, I picked up last cycle, and I also thought that fcpoa board membership was "necessary". I was nominated, but didn't get voted in, but still picked up, what is important is participation, you don't have to be a board member to schedule events and make a command/fleet impact. Now if you are a board member and want to submit a "letter" of said position, do a designation letter signed by your CO, this will guarantee validity. I submitted all my designation letters for collaterals, movsm, and all my technical certs even though all of this was in my evals, against what I'd been told "if it's in your eval you don't need to submit it in a letter"... It is your package, just make sure your record is correct, and if not submit any discrepancies, and follow all formatting requirements.

So there is a social media site that has a page by the name of “navy reserve careercompass” that has a video today by CMDCM Heisler that is about 12-13 mins long, that gives some good advice and info in regards to presenting your package to the selection board. Also gives what insight he can on the board process as he was the SEA for last years FTS and SELRES E7 selection board. Could be worth a look for those interested.

Time to start the FY-21 LDO CWO board thread.

5th ticket to the dance (and 1 to the LDO dance) at the 98th percentile. If only that actually mattered. 12 years in now so I'm entering the Navy's "average" window for selection to Chief. Congratulations to those that made board and for those that haven't, start studying. This year feels different, already, so I hope that is a good sign. Best of luck to everyone this summer

Trusting one there. Your ESO should be able to tell you.

I can’t blame anyone else for that but me. I came in the Navy in 2000, and we always did things with hard copy service records. When they did the move over to NSIPS I was on an MSC ship, all of our admin was done shore side, and we were mostly only in on the weekends. My OSC and I didn’t have the connectivity to even check CMSID, we got the req’s in an email, emailed our picks to admin, and it was in their hands from there...off topic, sorry. We were so busy at RIVRON in ‘11, and I didn’t know the right questions to ask when I first made board. Since all this has happened to me, I’ve made it my responsibility to explain to my subordinates and my peers the importance of checking records and keeping digital copies. I don’t shy away from telling a junior Sailor how OS1 messed up, it’s my horror story, and I hope it scares them enough to take care of their records.

Your situation is INSANE! But I can’t say I’m surprised. I don’t usually have THAT much missing but it was been like clockwork, every time I transfer, something that was once there is gone, something I’ve been trying forever to get in finally pops up and then I transfer and things disappear again. I swear it’s a game someone is playing. I just always end up submitting an LTB. When I got to my most recent command is when the admin guys told me it only gets “approved” for updates when you re-enlist. Best part is, since there were never any incentives I did a 6 year re-enlistment so that was my longest “gap” and I’ve always continuously sent the updates and missing info. They want to stop getting so many LTBs, they gotta fix THAT system. Anyway, congrats to everyone that made board!

If they cared about test scores I'd have made it last cycle when I had a hiccup and somehow managed to cut a 76 on the test. This year I'm back to my normal 60's.

Anyone else have the Chiefs mess announcing a count down to the profile sheets? So far have had a Senior Chief announce in the hangar 2 and a half hours, and just a little bit ago the MMCPO called over the radio 1 hour and 37 minutes.

I don’t think the triad gets them like the actual results. I believe only person that can pull the profile sheet besides the individual is the ESO and that’s still at the same time as everyone else.

I heard triad gets the results today, public release Tuesday. No matter when really at this point, but good luck to you!

For the record it wasn’t directed at you, but the situation in general. I’ve heard too many people suggest it.

In a perfect world we know that if the CO says you’re above his RSCA then that’s where you are. The problem lies in years of xfer evals that have been embellished a bit because the individual was departing. I do not agree with that method at all, And do believe that we should be held against a standard. However, going on years of “this is how it has been”, I wanted that breakout amongst peers to be quantified.

Hello, I'm seeking a path to acquire my past test scores and advancement dates (2003-2005). I have an error in my personal record that needs correction. The remedy hinges on the exact day of my frocking and date promotion pay. Anyone have any leads or who to contact?
  25. 1 point
Does your PSR in BOL not show your date of advancement? Also NSIPS should have date of advancement on your professional history.

For those who haven't seen this video, below I have attached a link that will provide some information in regards to the board process directly from PERS-8. The recording was dated a month before FY19 E7 selection board process but has relevant information. The video outlines what the board looks for, how adverse information may dictate the selection process, LTBs, and additional information in regards to the selection process. Good luck to all of you! https://youtu.be/34F2kehRAyA

Okay....I dealt with this right after transferring to my last unit. I reenlisted prior to going to shore having never asked the right questions about how all of our systems work and get updated. I had been asking for some help getting years of missing PQS and awards into my record prior to reenlisting, but I guess this wheel wasn’t squeaking enough. I reenlisted in 2015 and my record looked the same as it did when they did the initial upload in 2009/10, my last PQS was in 07 and I barely had any awards, not even a sea service! I showed up to shore and explained everything to the YNC, he told me “give me everything you got”, then regretted that statement. I spent my entire shore duty correcting NSIPS, trying to push it to OMPF, but ended up submitting all the NAVPERS forms in every LTB on top of my other enclosures (it happens a lot I’m told). FY18 my YN1 was able to get an updated awards history through to OMPF, although it wasn’t complete, and FY19 another YN1 was able to push my Member Data Summary (but it didn’t get in my record till October). With, I’d say, 98% of my qual’s and all 35 awards finally listed, they finally moved over to OMPF after I reenlisted this past December. So, long story short, your admin can TOPS anything over, but there is a department in PSD that DETERMINES if it should go in your record or not...even then it takes FOREVER, and I can’t tell you why. If you want to update your NAVPERS forms in OMPF, you need to get that to your admin ASAP!
