Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, repeatedly warned Trump that Iran would likely disrupt the Strait of Hormuz in response to a U.S. attack, according to a new report in the Wall Street Journal.

In several briefings, Caine warned the president that Iran would send missiles and drones to the area.

The Pentagon acknowledged Tuesday that the number of U.S. troops wounded in the war with Iran is far higher than it initially suggested in an unusual break from long-standing transparency norms about casualties in combat.

The name of the service member is being withheld until 24 hours after their family is notified, as is custom.

In just one week, tensions have dramatically risen in the region, starting with a joint military operation conducted by the US and Israel against Iran.

The six U.S. servicemembers confirmed dead in the U.S.-Iran conflict were killed while inside a triple-wide trailer that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had described as “fortified.”

Central Command made the announcement on social media Sunday without providing additional information.

Iran confirmed Sunday that it had attacked an oil tanker for defying orders not to cross the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The state television reported that the tanker “was illegally attempting” to cross the passage.

Activists on social media circulated images of the oil tanker on the verge of sinking, with plumes of smoke rising from it after it was targeted.

Oman’s Maritime Security Center said early Sunday that four people were injured in an attack on a Palau-flagged oil tanker north of Khasab Port on the Srait of Hormuz.

Iran struck a US Navy base in Bahrain Saturday in a series of retaliatory attacks across the region after the US and Israel launched a multitude of attacks targeting Iranian regime officials and military targets, sources confirmed to The Post. 

A massive explosion could be seen close to the base on the Persian Gulf Island nation associated with the US Fifth Fleet in video obtained by The Post.

The footage is taken from a vehicle passing by the area. A cloud of dark smoke blasts into the sky after the explosion, which then sends shrapnel flying in all directions.

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” the passengers can be heard shouting.

"The same approach is followed in Greenland," Frederiksen added.
