  2. Commander, Naval Surface Forces (COMNAVSURFOR), released an updated Navy Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) program instruction, Nov. 16. The updated ESWS program is set to reinforce a culture aboard surface ships that puts emphasis on Sailors first learning their ratings and watchstations, by giving Sailors more time to focus on obtaining critical in-rate and damage control qualifications before being required to enroll into the command’s ESWS program. The instruction’s release comes on the heels of a more than year-long process in which command master chiefs from the Eas
  3. U.S. special operators recently participated in an exercise in Sweden with members of that country's armed forces and Home Guard, which involved a variety of assets in the air, on the ground, and at sea. This included the deployment and recovery of an unmanned underwater vehicle from a small Zodiak that itself was deployed by one of the U.S. Navy's stealthy Combatant Craft Medium special operations boats. The drone enables maritime special operations forces to scout out areas to safely come ashore, hunt for mines and other hazards, and otherwise collect important data about what's going on und

  8. The Navy will offer limited, voluntary early separations with an eye to allowing Sailors in certain specialties the ability to transition to civilian life before completing their service obligations. Announced in NAVADMIN 307/20 on Nov. 19, the message says the early separations will be on a case-by-case basis, targeted to selected overmanned ratings and year groups as a way to help restore rating health and open up promotion opportunity for sailors seeking to stay Navy. Other types of early outs will also be offered and will be considered on a case-by case basis. Which program ap

  10. I’m definitely going to try to reach out to some people this year. On a good note, results release is only 8 months away now.
  11. Chief Select, look at the number next to your name on the NAVADMIN. That is your seniority. The lower the number, the more senior you are. The Navy will advance 3% each month for the first 11 months, and then everyone on the 12th month. This will be backdate to September, despite the results coming out in November this year. 1/3 of the Chief selects will be paid early. 2/3 will see their pay change September 2022 when they are officially advanced. Congratulations on your selection.
  12. The show must go on...back on the grind! Can't wait to get back to SEA to hit the deck running!
  13. As a reminder, Selectees and Chiefs can gain access to the Chief's area by contacting me. Selectees may want to do it before they get sucked into the big blackhole. To join, I need your first and last name and rate plus I need the online copy of the Selection board results NAVADMIN.
  14. There is a FY-22 thread active now when you rest up and are ready to get started. ->
  15. I'm here and still hurting but hey, this is a good time to see what we think we're missing and maybe start looking for something that could help our packages for the next one.
  16. The following personnel who have been selected for advancement to chief petty officer by the FY-21 Active-Duty E-7 Selection Boards.
