With board results ~2 weeks away, I figured I would start the FY-13 thread with some of the commonly asked questions from the last few years. Hope this helps!
Q. When will board and selection results be released?
A. Here are the dates for the last 2 years:
2012 Board Eligible results were released: 17 March 2011
2011 Board Eligible results were released: 05 March 2010
2012 CPO results were released: 01 August 2011
2011 CPO results were released: 31 July 2010
Q. How far back in my record will the FY-13 board look?
A. The board can review records going all the way back to January 2007.
Q.I am missing an important qualification from my OMPF and it is not on my eval, how can I fix this?
A: Page 4's are history, but you can print your 1070/881 (Qualifications) from your NSIPS and submit that as part of your Package. For local qualifications/certifications, your command’s NSIPS guru can print out your "Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System __C_e_r_t_i_f_i_c_a_t_i_o_n_s_ _A_n_d_ _Q_u_a_l_i_f_i_c_a_t_i_o_n_s___" report from NSIPS. Normal users will not be able to find this report, it has to be printed out by your designated NSIPS person in Admin.
Q. Does the board see my amazing/mediocre PRT scores in PRIMS and take that into account?
A. No. Typically, the board does not use PRIMS as a selection factor, but you will have your PRIMS account scrubbed to ensure that there are no missing, incorrect, or adverse scores.
Q. How do I get my awards updated?
A. Make a clear copy of your award, put your full social in the upper right hand corner, and give it to admin for submission into NDAWS and OMPF.
Q. Everyone keeps telling me to check my OMPF, How do I know what to look for?
A. Open BOL, Go to OMPF (Official Military Personnel File), click “I agree”, click on OMPF documents tab at top, On the Field Code portion on the top right, type 30 38 then click the symbol next to the white box and select "between". Click the "Document Date" to organize them by date.
Field 30 Reenlistment Document
Field 31 History of Assignments
Field 32 Admin Remarks
Field 33 NSTR
Field 34 SF-86
Field 35 Evaluation and Counseling Records
Field 36 Enlisted Qual History/Civilian Education
Field 37 Decorations/Awards/Medals
Field 38 NSTR

I believe that this was true when it was posted, but here is the new way to get awards into your record. It's on you to make it happen now!

SAILORS NOW HAVE AUTHORITY TO UPDATE NDAWS!
No longer do service members have to stand-by for Admin to enter awards.
New updates to Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), gives Sailors the power to upload awards into their record after receipt.
Below are the quick and easy steps for getting your awards into NDAWS:

1. Verify which awards are missing from your record.
2. Make a copy of the missing award citations with your full SSN# in the
top right hand corner.
3. Scan that copy.
4. Log on to the website listed below.
5. On the home page under "Applications" click Military Awards.
6. From there enter the information requested.
7. Upload the award scan into the required blocks.

NOTE: Only (Personal Awards) NAMs and above can be uploaded into NDAWS.
Letters of Appreciation, Flag Letters of Commendation, and Letters of Commendation will not be accepted in the system. When scanned all files must be in "PDF" file format as well.

Just copy and paste the link below into your web browser:

https://www.sas.cnet.navy.mil/Login/SASLogin.aspx?redirecturl=https://netccentral.cnet.navy.mil/ and follow the direction given above and
your awards will be updated in no time.

Question. I submitted my Brozne Star and Combar action ribbon to NDAWS and OMPF along with my two NAMS. Only my NAMS posted to my OMPF. I contacted my admin officer and he said that according to the OMPF matrix the BSM and CAR will not post to OMPF. However those awards both show up in my NDAWS and NSIPS. Will submitting these awards to the board be looked at poorly? I have made every attempt to ensure my record is current. OMPF is the only ting not reflecting it though.

Appreciate the help. Thank you.

As far as I have ever heard from anyone that attended the boards is, they look at the OMPF and nothing else....
and as for the Bronze Star and CAR not showing up in OMPF, that dosent sound right. Those citatioins should be in there....I think you still have time to get those in the OMPF properly..if not, I wouldnt see it being an issue to put it in your package to the Board...

I will contact my admin officer and see if we can re-submit or something. It did just strike me as odd that they would accept my NAMS and my fellow first classes COM's but the BSM and CAR did not post. Very aggravating. But at least I can still add it in the package. I just heard "rumors" that the less you have to include the better. I made board last year for LDO, so just pulling to make board again and have a shot.

Hey yall.. just thought I'd say hey. Been a regular lurker on the board ever since I was a lowly AN. My personal 2nd time up, so not getting my hopes too far up. Good luck to all, and a special thanks to NC1 & CTR1 for the awesome posts @ the beginning.
