PREPARING FOR THE CHIEF PETTY OFFICER EXAM

Recommended Posts

The Navy-Wide Advancement Exam (NWAE) will be administered on January 19 for all Active Duty and Full Time Support chief petty officer candidates, as well as PO1s who are applying for the LDO program. The 175-question exam has 150 occupational questions and 25 Professional Military Knowledge (PMK) items. Every question was verified by a rating subject matter expert and tied to a reference. Those references make up the exam-specific bibliography that can be downloaded on NAC's NKO portal or via Navy COOL. Exam topics and subtopics are also available to help candidates prepare for the exam. Exam scores are based on how well a candidate does in comparison to all other candidates taking the same exam. A score of 80 goes to the candidates who answer the most questions correctly. Good luck to all PO1s taking the exam next week!
