FY15 Reserve Chief Selection Board

Recommended Posts

I can't imagine that the results will be released mid april since the LTB are due NLT Apr 28.  Everything is moving much quicker this year since they did not have the continuation board.  Don't forget the read the NAVADMIN to see the changes this year.  Also, the precept has already been released for this year's board.  Lots of good information on the NPC website.

Also,  NPC has updated the General Info page showing correct addressing procedures, encrypted email procedures, and the SAFE dropbox procedures....all for getting your LTB to the board in time.

Good luck to all.

My NOSC was doing exams make-ups as late as March Bravo weekend.  They try to have the results before the letters are due, but I would suggest having your package ready to mail to the board, wheather you are eligible or not. If you make board, your stuff is there; if you don't, they just get rid of it.

Hey Guys need your opinion on something.

I am a reservist and I recently volunteered for a mobilization with NSWDG.

Now, I am competeing against 24 other sailors for Chief, most of whom I have to assume have not had the opportunity to deploy as there are very few opportunities that come across our community.

I am in the process of finishing up my board package. Should I include a copy of my orders in there?

Thanks for any advice!

-Derek

Denver, whats your rate, what will be your billet with NSWDG.   I would not recommend including your orders, but a paragraph on you LTB addressing your volunteer mobization might be nice.  During our CPO365 our CMC adviced not submitting orders as an enclosure to the LTB.

They come out when the board convenes. Saw on DWE where several rates had a final multiple of 20 to be board eligible. Whats up with that?

He's asking about quotas, not the profile sheet.

Cap is simply updating everyone on related stuff. She did not quote the other poster. If you hit the "Quote" on a post, it will include the comment reducing confusion.  :bigemo_harabe_net-85:

I was wondering same thing....as a OS I had final multiple of just 20 to make board...what does that mean?!?

The lowest score you can achieve on an exam is a standard score of 20. Clearly, not everyone did that, and not everyone made board. Navy Advancement Center exam statistics say 87 test takers out of 145 (60%) made the selection board which is inline with the statistical average of all rates with the Navy. I wouldn't read too much into it as long as you made board anyway.

Marine Doc I made well above 20 but I guest from  the feed back is that 20 was all OS's needed to just pass the test but not make board by just making a 20.....

Error on LTB.  I had three chiefs review my LTB, we took out a couple of things and all said it looked good.  Sent it off and then I discovered an error.  Do think I should let it be, or send in another LTB?  Problem was in paragraph number and used the term Warfare Badge instead of Warfare Specialist.  I know multiple letters are a no-no.

Sounds like you are first time up for board.  The selection board part will post either a S or N once results are out. And in the continunity report, mine didn't change last yr either.

Hopefully the trend of the last 2 years is broken this year for ya. Crazy that there's that many AOs in the reserves.....
